One summer evening on the beach of  Aegean sea in Turkish, I for first time had this amazing delicious kofta in my life. I was surprised that ground beef could be cooked with such flavorful taste. I have been trying to make beef kofta since I came back. I have tried several different spices combination, finally I came up with this 12 different kinds of spices combination. All the spices used for this recipe are affordable and available at either a health food store or an Asian or Middle-Eastern market. They are very good! Serve with yogurt, flat bread, lettuce, tomato and cucumber.

Ingredients;

  1. 11/3 pound 10% fat Organic ground beef
  2. 6 cloves garlic finely minced
  3. 5 tbsp finely chopped purple onion
  4. 5 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
  5. 11/2 tbsp cumin powder
  6. 1tsp fennel seeds
  7. 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  8. 1 tsp all spice powder
  9. 1 tbsp chili pepper flakes
  10. 1 tbsp finely chopped fresh Thai chili pepper
  11. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  12. 1/2 tsp ginger powder
  13. 2 tsp fresh grounded black pepper
  14. 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  15. 1 tsp sumac

Preparations:

  • Prepare each item listed above according and put all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Put a clear and clean glove on and start to mix with the hand until it is smooth and you feel tightness under your finger.
  • Make a meatball shape or flat burger shape. Cook them on electric grills, flat fry pan or just BBQ.
