Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup white rice
  • 6 cup water
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onion
  • 1 preserve egg (chopped)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp thin ginger threads
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds oil

Preparations:

Boil the rice at high heat for twenty minutes, then turn the heat to medium level, add half of preserve egg,  cook for another 20minutes, until the congee mixture becomes very thick and consistent.

Add the rest preserve egg, cook for another 10 minutes, then add green onion, salt, ginger. Stir well and cook for one more minute. Turn off the heat, add the congee into the bowl. Let it cool down, drizzle sesame seeds oil  before serving.
