This recipe is very easy to follow. And you don’t need much spice. The thing you need is Salt, Whole Chicken or Turkey, Enough Size Pot for Chicken, and parchment baking paper.

Ingredients:

Salt (based on how big your whole chicken is)

Whole/ Partial Chicken or Turkey ( 5-10 lb)

Pot ( big enough for the chicken).

 

Preparations:

1. Lay the salt on the bottom of pot about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inch thick. If you chicken is around 5-LB, 1 1/2 is enough. But for 10 LB, you may need increase a little more.

2. Wrap the chicken closely well with parchment baking paper, and make sure there is no contact between chicken meat and salt.

3. Add salt to fill the rest space inside pot and the top of chicken must be covered with salt about 1/2 inch thick.

4. Turn on the stove and set the heat high for 30minutes ( 5-LB) and 45 mins ( 10LB). and then reduce the heat to low to medium to maintain the temperature for about 30mins (45mins).

5. Turn off the stove, remove the salt, and take the whole chicken out of the pot. The chicken smells good, meat is tender and juicy. Very tasty.

6. Remove the salt turn into yellow color because of the fat from chicken meat. Save the rest clean salt for next time.

Note: Chicken cooked this way keep original taste, no additional flavor added, very health. Plus the fat is all gone. Adding enough salt is very important to make sure the chicken heated evenly inside the pot.  You can also use this for chicken quarter thigh. Not suggested for fish.
